Abilify, aripripazole

Hi. I already took aripiprazole. It caused me distonia (oculogyric crises). So we changed the AP.

This AP i’m taking also give me oculogyric crises. So my pdoc suggested i will take aripripazole again.

Do you take “abilify, aripripazole”? any of you have experienced “oculogyric crises”?

I want ti take abilify 5mg (one pill in the morning). I took it for a long time but i have this side effect once a week and obviously i don’t like and it’s scary. Also, i think abilify it’s the best drug for me.

Oh no I don’t have that I wouldn’t even know how to do it. I remember kids doing that in school kinda as kids as a joke I never did. But no I don’t get this from meds. On 20 mg I had much more side effects. On 10 mg not much side effects at all and it’s effective right for me.

I can’t imagine anything will be different this time

I’m jealous… if i had not this side effect i wouldn’t remember my psychotic disorder

I just stopped Abilify because it wasn’t working. I did not have problems with my eyes except for some blurry vision the first week on it. I also had Akathisia but Cogentin treated it perfectly

No, never had that side effect. On 10 mg Abilify/aripiprazole.

Sorry that’s happening to you- must be scary and uncomfortable :purple_heart:

Thank you. It is scary and very uncomfortable. :frowning: it’s so strange the majority of you don’t have and don’t even know this side effect!!

They say muscle stiffness is pretty common with Abilify but personally I have never dealt with something like oculogyric crisis. I hope that this time abilify will work for you without the eye movements. Good luck :purple_heart:

I’m praying for that med to come to Portugal

I’m also on aripiprazole, I had only one side effect, tardive dyskinesia (I used to give a lot of French kisses in the street to no one :slightly_frowning_face: ) but my doc prescribe a low dose of risperidone to end it 0.5 mg and I never French kiss anymore on the street to nobody.
I just hope that med comes before it’s a generic
