So when ever I am tired my eyes roll up and I get blurry vision. I am only on 300mg of abilify maintena. I don’t know what to do because this is now affecting me at work and it is embarrassing. Apart from these side affects I’m am also getting forgetful and am having sore legs when doing alot of work.what should I do? Should i change to haldol although when i was on respiridone my legs felt like jelly and i was very tired all the time to the point of wanting to fall asleep all the time. I dont know what to do?

If you feel that it is affecting your work I would definitly have a talk with your doctor. Maybe lower the dose or maybe you could switch to a drug you haven’t tried before(although that is always risky). Is 300mg a shot? Maybe you could take tablets instead. Perhaps your body deals better with that.
Hiya yes it is a shot. I dont know what my doc will say if I ask to go on another medication.it is risky for me since I’m very sensitive to medication and dont know how it will affect me
Well I never tried abilify (yet). I am on zyprexa. If you havent tried tablets though you might try that. 10mg a day or whatever, I’m pretty sure it gives the body a somewhat different response, but if it is to the worse or better I wouldn’t know.
I would definitly talk to your doc anyway though and try to find a solution. Just express your concerns and see what they can come up with.

I know this is an old topic but I wanted to put info here so it might help others. This eye rolling problem is called oculogyric crisis. Meds like Benadryl will help. Doctor might also prescribe Cogentin, Artane, biperiden…These meds are called AntiChoilnergic drugs. They treat antipsychotic side effects. Doctors my switch the antipsychotic to one with less side effects.
More technical terms: the “blurry vision” is a seperate side effect that usually comes with the eye rolling, it’s called “paroxysmal perceptual alteration”. If you have thes problem look them up and talk to your doctor. Don’t let your doctor up the antipsychotic dose thinking you are getting hallucinations because this will worsen these side effects! Advocate for yourself, print out this info if you have to give a hand out to your doctor because the vision change problem is rare and misunderstood by a lot of doctors.
