Anyone Change To Rexulti From Another Medication, And Have Good Results?

I did change from Risperdal over a year ago, but my doctor only lowered the Risperdal dose and added 0.5 mg of Rexulti. I have better motivation now with the combo and I sleep better. I’m thinking of getting the Risperdal lowered another notch and going to 1 mg of Rexulti to see if I get even more benefit.

About 4 years ago i switched from seroquel to rexulti. Im on 3mg and it works well for me. Im happy with it and consider it my most important medication.

My doctor did the same thing but I was originally on seraquel. I eventually got off the searquel entirely and was using rexulti as a mono therapy. That did not go well. I was on 1 mg and eventually lost it. We then upped the rexulti to 3 mg, that’s where I am now and I’m still all over the place.

This is from an article in the news section

“A 2021 study conducted by former senior FDA officials, as well as researchers at Tufts and Emerald Lake Safety, showed that Rexulti took substantially longer to reach effective levels in people with obesity—and that in some patients it might never reach effective levels. Yet the label provides no specific instructions or warning for patients or their providers regarding how to treat people with obesity.”

My plan is to go back up on the seraquel and maybe eventually lower the rexulti. I definitely wanna stay on it because it’s the best thing I’ve taken for negs.

I think your doctor is making the right move because 1. Like the article says rexulti may not be effective if you’re over weight (if you’re not maybe give using it as a mono therapy a shot) and 2. It’s the weakest antipsychotic on the market excluding maybe Caplyta.
