Anybody know anything about amisulpride(solian)?

Basically my question is should i worry about prolactin elevation on amisulpride ?

Is prolactin elevation on amisulpride equivalent to paliperidone/risperidone ?

I take it. It’s a great med for me with few side effects but it has elevated my prolactin.

My pdoc is not worried though about prolactin. I’m a woman and it’s stopped my periods but the med has been a life saver.

I have taken it for a year now. I am on 800mg and I get little if no side effects.

I had my bloods done for prolactin about a month ago and heard nothing back, so guess it’s ok.

Given the side effects of many AP’s this one when you weigh up how effective it is really stands as one of the best in my opinion.

I have been on 6 previous to this one, and I tolerate it really well and it controls my symptoms.

i use this med and i take a low dose (100mg twice daily) its great for my symptoms with little side effects and negatives,

i dont think it affects me bc its such low levels, i started on a small dose and it was good, the dose went up to 200mg twice a day at one point but i managed to cut it down again.

Solian is an atypical antipsychotic medication that is not available in the United States. It is reported to increase prolactin levels, which can depress fertility.

Risperdal is a bit more likely to cause prolactinemia than Invega and both are more likely to cause it than Abilify that is far safer in many respects than Risperdal that is most likely to cause serious weight gain and diabetes. Risperdal is very most likely to cause prolactin increase.

You take it for delusions or negative symptoms ?

I have been taking Amisulpride for more than 5 years. I am on 200mg. Except that It gives me huge prolactin level and fatigue it is a miracle med.

Have u ever done ECG test while you were on amisulpride as it causes qtc prolongation. Was your test normal ?

Yes, I’ve done the test, the level was about 380, if I remembered it well. Much much much higher than the normal level.

380 - are u talking about prolactin in ng/ml ? I asked u about ECG

sorry, I didn’t understand your post well. 380 was prolactin in ng/ml, not about ECG. I haven’t done a test on ECG.

are u male/female ? Did u notice enlargement of your breasts ? 380 is too high

Hi folks. I also think Solian (amisulpride) is one of the best antipsychotics in the word. Unfortunately, it raised my prolactin levels to the point where they were to high. But I found this page:

https://area1255.blogspot.com/2015/11/how-to-counter-act-amisulpride-induced.html

But I am to scared to try it because I already, have man boobs (I am male). So, if anyone wants to try it and send us info about how it goes, you are welcome.

how much was your prolactin @petar_pan on amisulpride. Is man boobs mild or huge ?

My results were:

987.25 mIU/L

Normal range is from 72.6 mIU/L to 407.40 mIU/L.

Best regards.

Can I ask, what’s so bad about elevated prolactin? My pdoc is really great and sought after, and he’s always told me not to worry and never tested it.

I am not wanting to get pregnant or anything and I am a woman .

Genuinely interested about why it’s such a big deal.

Elevated prolactin levels cause men and women to have enlarged breasts and also produce milk. More serious symptom is that you can get some part of brain have tumor.

Best regards.

I’m on 300mg amisulpride (supposed to be on 400mg but reducing it if I can as it’s so expensive) and it is a great med. I’ve been on it for six years and not much problems. Sometimes I leak a little milk but very little. But the benefits outweigh the side effects.

Oh well I ain’t got no milk and my pdoc
Isn’t worried. I’m only on 150mg.

Do you have any studies that show brain tumour risk being increased? Cheers

I am female. Sorry about this late response as I wasn’t home for a few days and had no computer. My phone dosn’t work on this site.
