Yeah, I’m more like a devout follower of scientism. But I firmly know to the best of my knowledge (science means knowledge) that all 3k gods humans have created are not real. Including the one that so many people believe in these days.

I would say I’m agnostic. There may be something out there, but I don’t believe it has anything to do with any of the religions on this planet.

I have an easier time believing the universe exists today because of a bunch of laws of nature shaped it over the course of billions of years into what it is today starting from the very base element of hydrogen that got flung everywhere at first (unlike popular belief of Christians that a fully formed universe of galaxies and planets shot out of an explosion) rather than some limitlessly powerful entity called the universe into existence through the power of speech after 6 days.
I especially love it when Christians try to tell me the big bang couldn’t have happened because something came from nothing and then they turn around and contradict themselves and say God did the exact same thing to create the universe by bringing it out of nothing and when I bring up that point they start BSing trying to make out like that’s not the case like his word caused it to happen or one told me one time “I didn’t say nothing was there, God was there” like how do either of those arguments change the fact God literally can create complex matter out of nothing when he wants which goes against multiple established scientific laws we’ve discovered?

I am willing to throw everything I know out the window in favor of any religion if they could give me more persuasive arguments that don’t instantly contradict themselves such as “U DUM CUZ U DONT BELEEF IN GOD”
And then when I try to explain how people such as Christians have misconceptions about things like the big bang from where they don’t really understand it they start acting like my explanation is nails on a chalkboard because I guess it makes more sense than their deeply held beliefs and they don’t like that I’m shooting them down with a more logical idea.
People invoking religion have the burden of proof on them. It’s a basic logical mechanism.
They all fail miserably at proving anything. The only thing that is remotely close to proof is that religion makes people cope with horrible lives (except for psychosis, that’s a different league of horrible) a bit more effectively. But you know, their wars they wage kind of outweighs the slight confort they feel.

I don’t need to know why everything is, I’m comfortable knowing that nearly everything in existence is out of human control including things that happen to my own body from natural processes such as aging and I honestly hope I just rot in the ground since existing has been kind to me so far for 29 years. For these reasons I will never need religion. However as much as I hate the idea, I can’t help but deny souls maybe exist because something had to decide that I am aware from this consciousness the moment I was conceived when my father’s sperm broke through my mother’s egg.

I don’t mean to get aggressive but this itself is aggressive and is exactly what I was talking about where I’ve heard religious people call atheists dumb for not believing in a god since this is literally calling us all the epitome of all evil for not believing in a god. And it provides no supportive arguments to try to be persuasive for it’s idea.

Yeah. All I did was provided a rationale for why I have my lack of belief. I didn’t say anyone was right or wrong. Then it just gets outright attacked with no supportive arguments.
There are people on both sides who are stupid.
