ANY ATHEISTs IN THE HOUSE

I’ve met some very smart atheists.
I’ve also read of those Christians that don’t believe in the Big Bang. The whole point of the creation story was that God created the world. Not that it took exactly 6 days.

Agreed. I think they are called extremists.

Well of course not everyone believes the exact same thing. I know however there are things like the creation museum out there that spit in the face of methods used to examine the world developed over generations by saying the Earth is just 6,000 years old.

I’m not even against religion because I’ve known some people it literally saved the lives of. If that’s what it takes to get through the day for them then more power to them I guess.

I’m an atheist. I only pray to the gods of sex, drugs, rock and roll. Amen.

Oh and Loki. Loki, too.

I believe if any entity exists that created the universe it would most likely be Azathoth the blind idiot god because the universe in all its nonsense would make perfect sense if a thing with no awareness even of itself is pulling the strings.

You should all read the mayans creation theory, the Popol Vuh, now that’s a story!

I think God created the Earth as a Garden of Eden. Figurative language is used in the bible.
I think its Satan and his minions that make hell on earth.

How about we talk about how a shadow government is brainwashing and controlling people with the idea of religion to get them to do, and not do, all kinds of ■■■■. Religion keeps people away from education. It keeps people uninformed and asking for more. It causes numerous wars and fuels fires that have no other reason for burning.

But by all means, go ahead and fall for it all. Who needs to think for themselves anyways when you can let other people do it for you.

I’m not gonna even get into arguments to that I have from personal experience that are probably impossible to counter out of respect for your beliefs.

Sh!t got real, real quick :joy:

I’ve said before as a joke I’m gonna start beating my head in with a rubber mallet and huffing paint until I can just smile passively at stupidity I come across and maybe finally blindly follow a religion. Sad thing is now it actually sounds like the only viable option.

I had been searching because someone called me deceitful here.
I tried to delete it but too late. It is a little extreme but it’s just a quote. Ignore it, believe it or forget about it.
Peace on Earth. Happy New Year.

My main problem with breaking down and following a religion is I can’t really come up with a highly structured and logical reason for going that route like I have for being a nihilist and atheist. I mean if it works for others that’s great but my rationality, despite having a disease called schizophrenia that hinders it greatly, has still always been one of my strongest character traits.

Indeed sir… Non religious non believer… That’d be me.

People from my hometown who can’t even grasp a concept simple to me like balancing scientific equations wonder why I think their idea of a god is just a streamlined theory of everything. Let that sink in for a minute.

They’re dumb…

Oh well…

Nihilism button

When I became ill again, I had forgotten about God and thought he was cursing me.

It was actually my Pdoc that brought up God because I never mentioned him.
i went back to Church and try to always do the right thing but we can fail. But we can only try and believe that God sent his son to forgive us.

I will admit the more I think about how spacetime didn’t even exist until the universe was born starts making the idea of a god and the big bang more and more blurred but I have always found rationality and science to work for me so I’m still going to lean towards it was all a law of nature. I mean all the scientific equations we have that scientists use to project models only had meaning and existed after the universe was born and will never be applicable to before it and anything before that is probably incomprehensible by human terms.

I believe in God, but not according to religion. I see the hand of a creator behind existence and in the cosmos, but I have trouble believing in a God who sends us to hell where we will burn alive for eternity because we didn’t love him with all our might. That’s worse than a third world dictator would behave.

I think an afterlife would be incomprehensible and maybe even traumatic at first due to how unlike anything we’ve experienced while alive it would be since our emotions, senses, thought, etc. are all products of our brains which are a physical object. This is why I think the concept of death as an entity being a big scary freaky symbol of evil is not conducive to its purpose. If anything it would be a nurturing comforting force that tries to help us adapt to the new situation so we will move on ASAP so the world doesn’t start getting clogged with souls stuck in limbo.
