An anti anxiety supplement Ive been using for a year may have stopped working

I’ve been taking beta alanine for a year to cope with anxiety and it’s been doing a good job. But now anxiety is coming back.

I think it’s still doing something as the physical anxiety isn’t unbearable like it was. It’s just the mental anxiety.

I’ve just taken 400mg of L-theanine on top of it now to see if that makes a difference.

Water probably has more of an impact on ones body !

I remember you said L-theanine didn’t do anything for you  It works for me though…

I know lol.

I wish it did help me though.

Oh man sorry to hear this. It was a life saver for you. This sucks big time

The L-theanine on top of it really helped. So I’ll probably make that my new routine until that combo stops working. I live to fight another day…

Do you think the lions mane might have precipitated this? Maybe the supplement will work again when the lions mane is out of your system?

Hmmm  I don’t think so unfortunately.

Maybe it’s the environment more than the supplement. I often feel that I’m in a rut, just spinning my wheels. I have to force myself to go outside, do something different.

I think the body and mind get used to things, so you have to mix it up.

Hi

I am sorry the Beta Alanine pooped out, Everhopeful.

As it gave you a year’s worth of respite I decided to follow your lead

and try it. Even if it only works for a year it would be worth the investment.

I am in my second week of taking it and as yet no anxiety.

Will keep you posted.

Ok. Be careful with it though. If you notice any aches or pains in your internal organs then stop taking it.

That’s a great attitude! I think I’ll try it lol

Had a quick look at the side effects and the main one is tingling.

Does the organ pain come on early on taking beta alanine or just randomly?

Thanks

Randomly…

Have pregabalin in mind, it relaxes everything,

I take pregablin at the moment but doesn’t seem to work well on its own for anxiety.

Same for gabapentin.

What it seems to work about in you?

It plays a role in Gaba in your brain which is also one of the chemicals highlighted in schizophrenics.

How much beta alenine are you taking?

I stopped taking it. But I was taking about 1500mg a day (all at once in the morning).

I don’t know the long term effects of taking it. So we’re all guinea pigs :pig2: if we’re taking it.
