Amount of sleep a scz person should get?

I sleep for 7-8 hrs every day but I think it is inadequate since I am on medications. I am working full time so have to wake up on time. I am on risperidone 4.5 mg which is sedative so its very hard to wakle up early but i somehave have to . My pdoc has given me modafil 100mg to be taken in the morning. So after taking modafil im alert and awake .But on weekends i sleep for upto 9-11 hrs which i think is more. Any opinions or suggestions friends?

8 hours is the healthiest sleep. but I am from the depressive schizos so I sleep much more - 11 or 12 hours. for the moment, I cant imagine working. not because of the sleep, but because of my symptoms :/…
keep going

@fighter007 u are on which meds…!!!

That sleep pattern sounds well and good for medicated scz patients working…I myself wake up from nightmares, sometimes for good, sometimes can go back to sleep, lol woke up gasping at 3:30 this morning for good, had woken up at 2 but went back to sleep…most of the time I can go back to sleep since I got on my current medication…before that, insomnia and nightmares were getting extremely bad for me. I mean two months out of the picture, dysfunctional besides agitated morning workouts.

I usually sleep 7-9 hours as well, preferably 7…on weekends I often sleep more…sounds right to me…from what I know about sleep, that is normal and healthy. The meds are known to make people sleep in, that is also normal. Most people cannot function that well unless they get 6 1/2 hours…according to medicine…and more than 9 hours is also bad…according to medicine…but medicine sometimes generalizes, like how I am “overweight” when I am just muscular. People who lift for a living sleep like 9-10 hours, Olympic weightlifters for example…

There are multiple theories as to sleep, but that doesnt matter. What matters is how your brain is working. It looks alright to me.

If you are tired throughout the day and unable to do menial mundane tasks, you have an issue…but you seem okay in that regard.

im on sizodon plus 7.5mg (risperidone and trihexyphenidyl )and zoloft 75mg and clonazepam 0.75 mg . thnks
