In my asd assessment I got asked if I had an ADHD assessment as well so now I’m worried as everything I read says ADHD meds CAN CAUSE PSYCHOSIS.

Just because you have ADHD doesn’t mean you have to take ADHD medication

I have ADHD but it’s buried beneath schizophrenia and bipolar so its low on treatment priority. No way they’ll give you stimulants for it.

There’s some meds they’ll try out if your adhd is severe enough to need meds. Some of the meds have a lower risk of psychosis , at least from what I’ve been told by others who have it. I am pretty sure I have it but with my other issues it’s hard to say

I have adhd and take a non stimulant adhd med called atomoxetine. Its completely safe to use along with schizophrenia. And it can help with negative symptoms for some aswell.

I went untreated for adhd most my life. But my bipolar/psychosis is pretty clear so im finally addressing it.
You can do a lot with cbt for this is and get pretty far with it.
I highly recommend this book. For adult adhd
Also videos by dr. Russell Barkley.
That has helped me a ton recently.

Meds for are it I feel aren’t too bad, I take Vyvanse and have SZ. I don’t get thrown into SZ Attacks , and I can focus more to deal with SZ issues when they are happening.

I have ADHD since I was born, same with SZ. I have struggled very hard with it without proper medication.
Imagine a boy at 15/ 16 bouncy as hell hallucinating and drunk … This was my life for a few years, and suicidal tendencies. I never thought I could make in this world back then, but with tons of help I am.

Maybe a non-stimulant medication might be good for you.
