Doc wants to put me back on adderall,
Is this not a bad idea? I thought stimulants and schizophrenia did not go together. I’m worried it’ll send me off the deep end. Although it helped me Lots before id had psychosis.
Is anyone on antipsychotics and adhd meds here?

I don’t trust her,
She took me off antipsychotics for a month and then was surprised when i became psychotic . I’m not sure she knows what she’s doing i feel like a lab rat

I asked for other pdoc opinion once, i regreted it.
I think my present pdoc is very competent.
Do you really have problems trusting her? Try another pdoc opinion, maybe

Yea it doesnt make sense think its contraindicated for schizophrenia although met a schizophrenic on Ritalin once and thats similar.

I’ll ask the pharmacist maybe they seem to know everything,
I don’t know about getting another pdoc, it took me a year to get in to see this one, im in a really isolated place

Maybe the antipsychotics cancel out the risk? I have no clue, i just know they took me off adderall when i first got psychosis

I think you have to try to trust her. She’s risking give you adderall because she wants you to get better. As pdoc she knows the risk right? I hope it helps your condition at the moment

It’s generally not recommended, but in some folks the potential benefits outweigh the potential risks. If you’re unsure about this doctor’s judgment, can you get a second opinion before making a decision?

Ahh I see. Well, it’s ultimately up to you whether to agree to a med change. Most of the people on here who have tried both adderal and antipsychotics had a bad time, but I think it worked out for one or two.

Allergies to certain foods can mimic ADHD. My daughter was diagnosed with adhd and when I had her tested for allergies I found out that she was allergic to all kinds of stuff

Adderall is a bad idea imo. It’s not worth risking psychosis to take it.

I would love ADHD meds…just to try it someday by a doctor. But the doctors say no. Probably a good thing. I have zero motivation and I’m fat.

I went psychotic on methylphenidate, I tolerated modafinil for 2 years then i had a relapse.
I don’t think you should take any type of stimulants. I would goto a different pdoc.

Methylphenidate (ritalin) made me more psychotic. Twice. I would get a second opinion

I was on ritalin and an antipsychotic for a few weeks but it brought back my psychosis, so I had to stop the ritalin. I never took adderall though.

Too high a dose of adderall made it worse for me. But it did help with negatives.

How high of a dose?
Id love to get rid of negatives but I don’t wanna risk psychosis .
