Abilify for negative symptoms

So as I already said it tons of times my negative symptoms were a lot better on Abilify as it doesn’t fully block dopamine. It boosts dopamine when its low and blocks it when its high. I developped dopamine dysregulation syndrome due to Abilify at 20mg. I am thinking about adding 10mg Abilify to my Risperdal and decrease my Risperdal to 3mg.

I am not going to try new meds bcz of unwanted side effects and worsening of psychosis. 10mg Abilify is equal to 2mg Risperdal so 3mg Risperdal + 10mg Abilify should be perfect. My Dr apt is 1 June.
I am thinking about going back to university and up my grades to specialize in physiotherapy. If I can’t I am going to work with my major in a physiotherapy clinic as an assistant.

I thought about Rexulti but idk how I will react to it as I dont know its doses effects. I know Abilify pretty well as I was on it for 8yrs.

Also I was on all its doses from 2mg to 25mg.

Its not available here in Canada.

Too bad! It works well for my negatives, and I’m on the lowest dose.

No I take zyprexa 20mg for positives.

Vraylar is similar to Abilify and Rexulti, they’re all partial dopamine agonists.

Actually 4mg Risperdal + 10mg Abilify should be perfect as I am on 6mg Risperdal now.

Work with the doctor. And be careful. Changing meds or dosages can mess one up. :wink:

I already have a major degree in kinesiology and finished university but thinking about going back up my grades to be able to do 1yr master specialization in physiotherapy and have my own clinic. With my current degree I can’t have my own clinic.

I am not afraid of that as I was already stable on 3-4mg Risperdal. I manually increased to 6mg as I had a bit of mania. Also 10mg Abilify=2mg risperdal so 4mg risperdal + 10mg Abilify = 6mg risperdal which is my current dose

I’m currently on Abilify 15mg and clozapine 300mg. I’m slowly coming off of clozapine and just sticking with the Abilify as my only AP. I hope it works out. When the abilify was added my negative symptoms improved pretty quickly. I’ve become more productive both in my job and personal life. I think adding it would be a great idea for your negatives, especially since you know it helped them in the past.
