A beautiful mind movie

I watched the movie a Beautiful mind again. I have never had visual hallucinations, just auditory hallucination such as hearing voices that some people followed me with their satellites and that they communicated to my car using satellites. Have you had visual hallucinations?

I’ve had a few visual hallucinations. They were supposed to be people talking to me via witchcraft - like a projection. So, they were not solid. It stopped with medication.

Just delusions, voices one time in hospital when I didn’t sleep for 2 weeks.

I have had a million visual hallucinations. If I draw and close my eyes I’ll see neato designs but visual hallucinations are nothing to romanticize. Like referring to yourself as a SEER. My visual hallucinations weren’t as realistic as in the movie just content -wise.

In addition to imaginary peoples’ faces, buildings, flowers, and imaginary landscapes, I see a wide array of lights on the walls of the house and inside my head. There is actually much more than that I can say!

yep yep, dogs, shadows and people that I know were some of them

John nash never had visual hallucinations either. It was just for the movie. He had auditory hallucinations

They changed a lot for the sake of story.

I don’t like the film, myself.

It’s not a great depiction of the illness or really anything other than Russell Crowe overacting.

Only when extremely ill. Mostly auditory.

I didn’t at first. I didn’t know what schizophrenia was and my doctor recommended I watch that movie and I thought he was crazy. Said I didn’t have that. And didn’t have imaginary friends.

But after I stopped my meds the last time I began to hallucinate. I see other people and they talk to me just like they depicted in the movie. I am not real smart and never thought I worked for the government but I think the government gave me schizophrenia.

So long story short I didn’t think much of the movie the first time I saw it but now I think it’s a fairly accurate representation of the illness. At least in how it affects me anyways.

I think that auditory hallucinations are quite different from shown in the movie. I thought Nash had visual hallucinations because images in the movie are so vivid. When I started hearing voices in 1998, these voices were simple such as ‘You are with Devil’ and so on.

I had complex auditory hallucinations. Intelligent voices that would carry conversation and instructions.

I think we all have different experiences and similarities with this illness

Yes my hallucinations tend to be more visual than auditory.

I usually hallucinate when I’m extremely manic.
