Has anyone heard of 2 or more antipsychotic use at one? Is that even possible?
It is quite common but generally not recommended.
I take 2 APs. Have done for years
I take two too for about 4 years now
I’m on two APs, as well, Abilify shots and oral Haldol. It works pretty well for me.
I was on two but one was abilify to lower prolactin.
Now I’m just on one.
I am on seroquel and invega it’s alright
I’m on latuda 80mg at night, 40 in the AM, as well as Prolixin 2.5mg AM and PM. So far, it’s been a great combo for me.
I was on Haldol and Amisulpride for a few months, but then I stopped the Haldol due to side effects
Risperidone and Abilify here.
I like the combo, but would ultimately like to be on just the abilify.
I was on 2 but recently quit one.
I was on Saphris while taking Risperidone as a PRN. Not sure if that counts.
@Andyfinn, It is very possible. I’ve been on three anti psychotics at once for many, many years: Risperdal Consta, Geodon and Seroquel. And it all works on my psychosis wonderfully.
I have no idea why it is not recommended when it works so well.
Yes that is possible
It is better than getting one ap with large dose
Large dose has so much side effect
Two ap mean you get the benefits with less side effects
At a mental hospital I was receiving haldol and risperidone. From haldol I received terrible TD, so doctors prescribed to use only risperidone
