Is it ok to have one beer while on an anti psychotic? For those that have or do drink do you feel ok while taking aps?
Just wondering because i would like to have a beer on thanksgiving but don’t know what to expect.

I’d not drink alcohol, the schizophrenic brain is very fragile. Maybe drink non-alcoholic beer?

I have a beer every now and then with clozapine. It says online it just makes you tired. Ask your doc though to be sure. If you take a benzo it’s best not to mix.

I’ve had a glass of wine on invega sustenna. Nothing happened as far as my medication not working.

Yea my doc said it’s ok to have a few beers but just don’t get drunk, but I just wanted hear from your guys experiences.
I have 1-2 beers or mixed drinks a night. Whiskey sours are my go to if I can’t find beer. No noticeable side effects to note. Be careful though. Ask your doc first and watch your BAC, there are calculators online. Don’t overdo it. I know my limits and stay well below them. Cheers!

It could possibly make you feel tired, maybe drink it later in the day. I drink and I feel fine as long as I don’t over due it. I think one beer will be okay.

I’ve never had a problem having beers on antipsychotics. It can affect you and each to their own. In moderation it’s not a bad thing in my book. I drink mid strength beer. It’s not high in alchohol and I don’t touch spirits or hard alcohol. I do drink wine occassionally!
