What kind of job can do an schizophrenic with negs and cognitive symptoms?

Do you have those there? We have no such thing here, you can work at any job you want

Actuary study manual is a couple hundred dollars. Tutorial class is similar. If I regain my cognition soon, I might study again and give it 1 try.

Still considering accounting. Two different fields for sure. One requires math, the other business.

Itā€™s not that easy.
You should past some interviews with psychologist and social workers and to a relative too. And maybe they will give it to you or not, and that process takes two years.
Even if you get it itā€™s difficult find a job, here is difficult for a normal person find a stable job, I think for us should be even more difficult. But I should tryā€¦

What kind of help have you so?

Here you can apply for any job and not have to disclose your mental illness, Health care is good and they have people that will help you find a job and they have working connections with companies that will hire you.

Not sure where you live but it sounds very hard to get by where you are

The most important thing is to find an employer that is understanding. You are probably going to need to take some time off here or there and you might need to take some extra breaks, so having an employer that understands this is key. I wouldnā€™t disclose you had schizophrenia right away as stigma is a big problem but I would maybe tell them You had anxiety so there is an explanation for your needs.

The second most important thing is the work environment. in my experience a small business is better than a big one and a no performance targets is key.

If you suffer from cognitive symptoms or you relapse frequently I would look at a job that is repetitive and has low stress such as a factory hand or a pick/packer. Perhaps data entry also. Stacking shelves at a supermarket is also a good one. House keeping in a small motel could also work. A catalogue drop is good too.

Some of us are more extroverted and enjoy being around people. In this case I would look at receptionist , customer service especially over the phone, working in a warehouse, retail in a small environment or in a movie theatre.

Some of us have a hobby, comics, musicā€¦ Tap into that and see what you come up with.

The beautiful thing about lots of folks with our affliction is that we have a deep empathy for people, so if you are stable, a career in helping others can be great. Aged care, teachers assistant, recreation assistant, specialist employment consultant. Try not to get too emotional if you go down this path.

By the way, I have met and read about schizophrenia sufferers who are very high functioning and work as lawyers, accountants etcā€¦

The most important thing however is your health, only work when you are ready and I would seriously recommend starting part time.

Hope this helps and sorry it has been so long.

One more bit of adviceā€¦ If your not successful finding work in a reasonable time frame, I would recommend voluntary work. Prospective employers like to see that you have done something recently

I used to work overnight as a hotel front desk clerk. We had security guards there as well. I guess it all depends on what kind of city you live in because our clientele wasnā€™t the best. A lot of drunks and bad people I had to deal with overnight alone with my security guard. I didnā€™t like it very much. The type of clientele is what makes that a good or bad job.

Part time costumer service at a store is easy / low stress and is a good way to dive into working again.

@Mouseymoo great adviceā€¦

I work as a freelance web designer/developer and really like it. Itā€™s an appropriate level of difficulty (most of the time) and is very creative and technical at the same time. Itā€™s kind of like creating art and is rewarding because you get to see your creation coming to life (which has really helped me with negative symptoms).

I also started tutoring it, which is kind of nerve-racking but rewarding in its own way.

When I worked as a fulltime web developer, the environment, people, and my irrational sense that I owe my employers my life was overwhelming, but as a freelancer, itā€™s a lot easier.

I was an English tutor at a school for adults before my contract ended and I went on a search for full-time work (never have found thatā€¦).

I found that was pretty relaxing, in a weird way.
I would spend my time at home developing lesson plans. I enjoyed looking online and through books for good content for my students. I would write my own quizzes, etcā€¦

In class, at first I was terribly nervous, but then I realized my first student was more nervous than I was! I got to know her a little better by chatting with her before class about her new life in the States. After that, I was rarely panicking!

I would come very super organized though, all my papers and worksheets in order, a list of to-do items, and Iā€™d play a minute or two of video to gather myself and my thoughts. Then, Iā€™d have them write about the short video and Iā€™d give them feedback on their writing. It was very satisfying and rewarding. I miss it! Iā€™d do anything to go back!

I wouldnā€™t rule out too many jobs, as you might be surprised how much you can accomplish with the right commitment and passion! Good luck! Iā€™m on leave from my part-time job, which I am going to quit because it is too stressful and management are a bit corrupt and they owe me back-pay. I worked with people on the autism spectrum and it took a toll emotionally-thatā€™s why I would suggest something you are super passionate aboutā€“youā€™ll worry less and enjoy it more! Sorry for long story!

I believe the word in English is luxuriesā€¦

In the US your Dr has no say in whether or not you get disability. The govt requests your records and they decide what they think without asking for your Drs input.
