Had trouble thinking most of the day. I’ve gained 5 pounds in less than a week. Not looking good so far
Hope it helps @LilyoftheValley , give it time.
I had side effects for two weeks, then they went away (except a little akathisia). One of them was short term memory loss, that was rough. I’m pretty well adjusted to 10 mg with no symptoms but when they tried to raise it I got the side effects again so I’m back to the original 10 mg.
So you might feel better after a couple weeks. If there’s anything positive it’s doing for you, that should stick around. For me it helps eliminate episodes of disassociation and reduces the frequency of negative voices.
Even the akathisia comes and goes, I don’t suffer too bad with it some days. How long have you been on it exactly?
A week @agent101g

Yeah give it another week at least. This drug scared the crap out of me at first but turned into the only one that I can handle once the side effects went away.
Ok. Got it. I decided against calling my pdoc today about side effects. I’m giving it more time
You definitely have to watch your calories on it. I’m sorry you gained weight. The only way I am losing weight on it is to be meticulous about my eating. 1200-1400 calories a day. Tracking my food in a calorie tracker to make sure I’m in my range. I went over to 1800 calories for a planned treat on Saturday and gained a pound. It’s a constant battle. I’ve managed to lose 16 pounds while on it, but in the first month, I stayed within 1200-1400 calories and gained a pound. It took four weeks to start losing. Hopefully that evens out for you too.
I really hope things start to improve for you. Is there any progress with your positive symptoms? It’s only been a week, but maybe you’re seeing some rays of hope?
@anon39736208 I still am having trouble with the men and people working for the men. I’m not convinced yet that they’re not real. I’m going to give this drug 2 months before I quit just in case it needs to build up in my system. My “imaginary “ friends are still around and I’m constantly having paranoid thoughts. I’ve even started hearing random voices. I’ll ask what did you say only to find out they said nothing. I’m hoping that if I just need meds that this will all go away soon. Otherwise I think I’m being harassed by demons
2 months is a good amount of time. I hope things start to improve for you!
Thanks @anon39736208
do u have history of taking AD before? maybe it is because the withdrawal of AD that u had taken before, u may have to take them back again if in case they happen.
Hang in the @LilyoftheValley everything will turn around.
5 lbs in less than a week doesnt sound too good, when i was on olanzapine i gained a pound a day everyday for a few months than kept gaining at a slower rate from then on, didnt lose any of the weigh until i stopped taking it. the first time i was on it i didnt gain as much but i was only on it for a few months because i wasnt really wanting to be on any meds at all, meds affect everyone different tho so you shouldnt make decisions off others experience, the brain fog gets better overtime your still adjusting, goodluck
Yeah. I’m going to try to wait it out a bit. Hopefully the weight gain slows down.
I’ve been on the same AD for a year now. We didn’t stop it. So the only withdrawal was from Haldol.
How are you doing now @LilyoftheValley ?
GET OFF OF IT! If you’re gaining weight that rapidly, it’s only going to make life harder down the road! I gained 32lbs in a month on it. It’s NOT worth it!
Zyprexa weight gain never leaves, ive got it. Im the fattest person on this forum !!
I believe that Clozaril is her last choice.
