I don’t post here much but I decided I might as well do this, just as a journal for me.
After only one day I’m already feeling the side effects. It makes me very drowsy, and gives me horrible food cravings. Too early to tell how it will do with positive symptoms, doc said a week or two at the most and they’ll die down.
Here’s hoping this is the med for me.

I have been on various meds for schizophrenia over the years and I would like to tell you about getting started. The first few days on a new med might give you some side effects that go away in a little time, like a week or so. But there are a few longer term side effects that you may have to deal with. I hope you have a good experience with Zyprexa. Many people take it. I have been taking it for about 3 years now.
I had a feeling of being zonked that went away after taking it for about a month. I feel fine on it now.
I find it gives me insomnia, so I have to take it in the early morning. Hopefully the drowsiness goes away with time.
When I was on Zyprexa back in 1996-97, I had bad sugar cravings but I haven’t had that this time around. I’m losing weight this time.
It’s my miracle med, I hope it’s yours too! 
I gained 30 lbs in 2 months on Zyprexa and refused to take it after I had to buy new jeans cuz my old ones didn’t fit anymore. I do miss how well it worked for insomnia, tho. I’m on Abilify now which works okay but has me waking up at 3 am every day. Hope the Z works for you!
