This drug makes me hungry! It’s so hard to control! I don’t know if this will work. I’m already overweight. I can’t afford to gain. This sucks! Also, I’m getting messages from things. I don’t think this drug changes anything for me. I have to give it a chance but my hopes are not high.
Oh I’m sorry @LilyoftheValley but give it some more time before you decide to throw in the towel.
That is hard wen it makes you hungry abilify does me too but it works in other ways apparently so I don’t let that put me off. It just takes extra effort to not overeat. But much easier said than done yep. Like @Wave said, yea I think you’re right in giving it more time. I had some pistitive symptoms start wen first going on abilify but then it went later on.
Ok. How long would you wait?
That’s good to know about the positive symptoms @anon90843118. Thanks for letting me know that.
Like 2 or 3 more months
Same here. I mustve gained 15 lbs on zyprexa. Awful drug for me, but you should give it another month or so to kick in fully, maybe itll be the one for you
Ok @zwolfgang and @Wave. I was planning on 2 months so I’ll stick with that.
I gained 25lbs on zyprexa and additional 10lbs on the meds I’m on now. My boyfriend tells me I’m fat every day. Now we just got in another argument. I wanted to make a grilled cheese sandwich and his brother is home and my bf said the brother will be standing over me. So he’s making processed frozen chicken nuggets. I refuse to eat anymore. He makes me feel bad about eating because all the fat went into my thighs. I said I can’t control it. That’s the price for sanity. Listen to the others give it two months
@Winterblues that makes me not want to take it. But I will.
Sorry I didn’t mean that. We literally just got in an argument. And I’m pissed at him, I feel trapped. He said why are you mad at me for telling the truth? I said bc I can’t control the truth, why would I want to eat your dinner if your making me feel bad
I know what he said hurts deeply. I’m sorry you’re hurting like that
Eeeek! Oh, Girl! When do you see your doctor again?
3 months but she said I can schedule sooner
Okay that’s good!
I’m sorry you feel that the Zyprexa isn’t working out for you. For me, it suppresses my appetite, but the weight loss I’ve experienced is slow. At least I’m losing, but I have to work very hard to do it.
Hopefully it will kick in and control your positive symptoms better. I think you just started a week ago? Maybe the hunger will even out over time as well.
i had to stop olanzapine because i gained 180 lbs on it and couldnt stop eating got to the point where i would eat so much that i would have pain in my stomach everyday, switched meds now im losing weight pretty fast, imo olanzapine is the worst med when it comes to appetite and weight gain, for me it was impossible to resist the urge to overeat on it, sucks tho it would be almost the perfect med without the huge appetite increase and weight gain
I’m feeling the same way about how impossible it is not to eat @sigarino. Hopefully it goes away
keep track of your weight and let ur doc know if its increasing, my last pdoc told me no med can cause weight gain and that you just have to not eat but its not that easy my new doc as soon as they saw how much weight i gained they put me on a different med and now my appetite is much more manageable and im losing weight quickly
Yeah. That’s what I’m going to do @sigarino. My pdoc says some APs do make people gain weight, and she doesn’t expect me to stay on a med that does that.
