Thank you to the makers of Zyprexa!! A little bit of weight gain is worth the mental calmness it gives me. My paranoia is almost completely gone. I hope everyone is having a good day. You all deserve it
That’s so wonderful! Congrats on a good med for you!
Thanks @melmel7 it’s definitely helping me unlike Abilify.
I’m feelin’ good right now too. Wish I was still on Zyprexa but my psychiatrist says she thinks Invega injections are best for me.
Glad you’re feeling better dude @anon21849028
Why did your doc take you off Zyprexa? @anon21849028
She thought Invega would be better.
But was Zyprexa working for you? You said you wish you were still on it. Docs usually only change the meds if something isn’t working. @anon21849028
It worked well for me but I have a habit of skipping and forgetting my meds though so those are some reasons why she put me on injections.
Understandable @anon21849028
I love Zyprexa too. I’m glad it’s working so well for you!
In my case, I have been on disability since January 2015 because of crippling paranoia that was fueling bizarre delusions. I literally left the house 1-2 hours a week, always with my husband and not alone. My pdoc had told me that there was no AP that specifically targeted paranoia, so we just assumed I would always suffer with it. I’d already tried Abilify and Geodon but they didn’t help. When she changed me to Zyprexa from Haldol, I was paranoia-free after only six weeks, and it’s stayed gone. I am no longer disabled. It’s my miracle med. Sounds like it’s yours too! YAY!
If you’re careful with your eating, you don’t have to gain weight. I have been limiting to 1200-1400 calories a day since I started in mid-March and I have lost 28 pounds so far. I should be losing a steady two pounds per week with this calorie range, but sometimes it’s less. I just don’t want to gain! You have to be really dedicated, but it’s worth it!
Have a great day too - you deserve it!
