Zyprexa - Road to hell

I feel strong sensations crawling in my legs and arms, especially when I’m trying to go to bed.

I feel like I’m going in semi-weird paralysis. It all began after I started heavy dosing zyprexa 20mg It’s really that bad. Doctors and nurses said it’s restlessness.

I’m also on other meds that it fights this condition, nothing so far. Please share your experience if you had similar. I could endure it all if I knew that it will end soon. Otherwise I’ll end up with broken bones and muscles from all the shock. Thanks

Yes they can cause bad side effects. Just because there are listed side effects, doesn’t mean everything that can happen is covered. I was getting akathisia from Seroquel and I didn’t even realise it was akathisia for a long time!

I got akathisia from Geodon that made it impossible to sleep cuz I felt like my legs would never stop moving. I could never take it again. Sometimes if you’re on a heavy dose then dividing it up over the day helps…sometimes, tho, switching is the only thing that works. Sucks…I hope it gets better for you!

I’m on 20 mg of zyprexa and I’m fine.

I suffer from restless legs and that’s about it.

Since I’ve upped the dose I have a decreased appetite so I’m happy on the 20.

I used to get dystonic reactions in my neck and face. Kinda like the muscles would start tensing up and then they would seize, to where I’d have a painful grimace and my neck would stick out at a weird forward angle. Could it be that you’re having a similar problem in your legs and arms?
Benedryl or the generic equivalent was helpful in preventing this for me. 50 mg in the morning and 50mg at night. And as a PRN (as needed), if I noticed it coming on.
