I’m not a fan of Zyprexa because of explosive weight gain and diabetes. What about the rest of you?

I have to be on zyprexa unfortunately. I have tried a few other meds, Latuda gave me anxiety, risperdal no difference I think. I’m afraid to try Abilify cause people say its common with anxiety on it. I have given up trying meds, and it’s so much hassle to change meds.
I’m just patiently waiting for the third generation meds like Karxt and Ulotaront to hit the market, and I have hope they will be good.
I find it disgusting they use that as a first line med here

Anyway I’m on a pretty low dose. 7.5 mg zyprexa. I guess I’m thankful that I don’t require more…

It’s an ok med but doesn’t help me by itself I need other meds with it.

25mg a day and down 15lbs in 6 months.
I’m happy with it.

I haven’t gained weight on it but I was only on it for one month.
But my blood sugar levels spiked up drastically

It’s taken away my natural ability to sleep and now I depend on them. I’m trying to get off, but it’s difficult when the pdoc team refuses to have a session with me. But hopefully I will find a alternative somehow.

I didn’t like to use it. But I love that stuff because it has saved the life of my mother who is 77 years old and on 35 mg olanzapine by mouth.

I HATE that sh-t!!! I was first put on it because a sh-tty pdoc decided I was losing too much weight. I was at, like, 140 at 5’10". I didn’t know what it would do to me. I gained so much weight it was nuts! Now they try to push it on me for migraines that don’t break. Hard. Pass.
