Anyone had increased paranoia on it? At 2 weeks in i did and stopped taking it. I got paranoia with the radio then thought my brother was plotting to kill me…Did i just not give it enough time?
Sounds like it was making you worse. I don’t think it was the med for you.
When I was on Zyprexa I slept a lot, and I craved sugar. If Zyprexa is having a different effect on you maybe you should talk to your pdoc about it. Remember the crisis lines if things ever get out of hand. We’re here for you on the internet. You might want to let your family know that the med’s are having an unexpected effect on you, if you haven’t already. Work closely with your caseworker/pdoc in finding a med that works well for you. You have a strong interest in this, so make your feelings heard, whatever they are.
I have an appointment monday and im not liking the risperdal blankness and concentration issues so was thinking of giving zyprexa another shot.
Geodon and Seroquel have worked out great for me. You might ask your pdoc about those.
Did it help with intrusive thoughts?
No, it didn’t do that. I still have intrusive thoughts. It did help with my hallucinations, and that has done me a world of good.
Im on zoloft for the ocd thoughts the dr says but only been on it for about almost a month. I hear it can take 2 months to do any justice.
Hows your cognitive function/memory on geodon?
Yeah. Paranoia got worse on it for me.
Were your hallucinations visual or auditory?
Thats what im thinking happened to me.
It’s pretty good. I’m a writer, and I cannot write at all when I am on a typical AP. I can write when I am on Geodon and Seroquel. If anything, those drugs have improved my writing. I’ve always had trouble with short term memory, though. Those drugs have no effect good or bad on that.
Wow thats awesome it helped you write again. Im having that mental block on the risperdal
The AP’s can do that, especially the typicals. Tell your pdoc about your writing and let him or her know that you sure would appreciate it if he/she could prescribe you a med that didn’t destroy your imagination.
Oh its worse than that. My understanding is effected, talking like dyslexic and blanking out. It happened after invega sustenna injection which is a metabolite of risperdal which im on right now. Hoping to heal. Heard that it can take months to get back to normalcy.
