Zepbound and mounjaro

Does anyone take zepbound or mounjaro?

I’m thinking of asking my doctor for it. I am overweight and I have high blood pressure. My psychiatrist said I could ask my primary about it because I had to stop an appetite med due to health complications.

I fear giving myself an injection and I hope it won’t hurt. I wonder about other side effects too. Seems like they mess up your stomach.

I’m on Saxenda and about to transition to Wegovy, which is stronger. These meds have a similar mechanism of action to Zepbound. I have lost over 100 lbs so far. I’m not experiencing much in the way of side-effects other than the time I accidentally double-dosed one day. That’s a mistake you quickly learn not to repeat. (Oh, the vomiting…)

It gives me a “normal” appetite. I can eat a reasonable amount and be full. I’m not hungry and needing to snack all evening. I don’t snack at night at all now. My blood pressure went back to normal after my weight dropped.

The injections are with needles so small and fine that you barely notice them. My needle anxiety didn’t last beyond the first day.

I’m on Mounjaro, started out on Saxenda. The injections don’t hurt at all, the needles are so fine and it’s only once a week. I lost 150 lbs on these meds along with calorie counting and exercise. They, like @shutterbug said, help give you a “normal” appetite. I’m on the lowest dose and have been maintaining my weight since i got out of the hospital (i gained about 10 lbs in the month i was in the hospital). These medications have totally helped improve my quality of life.

Just started Zepbound. The injection does not hurt . No weird side effects yet. Almost one week, my second dose is Saturday.. I don’t feel hungry all the time anymore and I don’t crave sweet things..

Since I started taking mounjaro my A1C went from 10.3 down to 5.8. I also lost 50 lbs. I take metformin too. I got just a little nauseous the first couple of weeks I started the injection but it went away and 4 months later I have no side effects now.

The important thing to know is that these medications give the best results with a healthy diet and regular exercise. If you take Zepbound but still live on sweets and poutine while staying sedentary, well, you’re not going to get the results you’re hoping for.
