I don’t have a problem with other people doing it but I wouldn’t spring for it unless it was free.
Much other things I would rather have like a 3rd bathroom, a heater for my pool so I could swim all year or a new Corvette.
I did have a lipoma removed from my abdomen when I got out of the military before I retired. I was skinny then and it looked odd. The military hospital wouldn’t do it but my insurance paid for most of it. It was a surgery. The guy who did it usually made people’s stomachs smaller. I forget what kind of surgeon that is. They gave me that drug that killed Michael Jackson. Propofol or something like that. I was out. My son and his girlfriend had to drive me home.
I guess it was just cosmetic though. The hospital sent me a large bill even after the insurance paid for it.
Its disgusting 99% of the time. I understand it if you have some kind of scarring or are in an accident etc but I agree with you that its sad that people feel so inadequate that they have to butcher themselves to look in the mirror.
Back in the seventies I was in a car wreck it Left me with face lacerations Lucky for me the ER have a Student from California specializing and plastic surgery Thanks to him and his creative skills they put my face back together And didn’t have to live like Frankenstein the rest of my life Now that I’m older and the plastic surgery lines are beginning to show ever so slightly I think of the wonderful years I’ve had And how it could have been This is my 2 cents
