You had me at schizophrenic

Anyone have or know of a sz/sz relationship? I think it’d be so romantic

If it worked I’d award them the most enduring couple award!

They dont want us having babies it would make a schizophrenic to the power of two. It would be like the scarlet yohahnsen movie “lucy”

hey,

Back in the dark days there were a few. I can’t think of one that lasted but would love someone to correct me!

That is just from my memory and this website. Put people together they’ll look for companionship and things happen…

We’re all here to help cope, I think a sz couple could pool their experience and help each other be better

hey Moonwalker,

It’s an interesting conundrum. What I saw was most folks got tore apart by distance. We often aren’t the richest people and there were distances involved. It was curious. I’m not saying it wasn’t doable and it’s cool to keep up that idea of romance…wtf not!

It was a weird world back in the late 90’s and early noughties. A lot more genuine folk and outlets like chat here … it really was an amazing time for most folk…As a disclaimer…you ever seen " Angel Baby " it’s an Australian film and it’s negative to this thread but a good movie nonetheless!

There were two that met on here and later married, although I can’t recall for how long. They did eventually get divorced, a lot due to their meds not working.

Lol… I have not met anybody in real life who is a SCZ  people can not tell I am, maybe they think I am a little weird sometimes.

It’s be cool for sure. I think @cbbrown or @jukebox have…
I am not sure if I can be with someone who is similar to myself.

I believe it can work.
Depends on the people, the individuals, what they want and how they chose to be towards each other.
Maybe talk about it before you get together.
My best friend I had who was my boyfriend had manic depression I think and I have had a schizophrenic boyfriend as well.

We are watching same show as you.
We do not watch tv only recorded tv.
We are also watching better call Saul.
We watch it infront of dinner most nights.
One episode and then I go to bed n he plays computer games.

Yeah my mom is bipolar so not sure

I would give it a try if the opportunity was presented. Although, a girl who was schizoaffective messaged me on a dating site and didn’t seem interested when I said I have the same issues…

I’d love to be close with someone who had the same issues as me, but I don’t know that I could handle dating someone who was even half as ill as I am, I can barely handle myself.

I’m lucky that my current bf isn’t actually pushed away by my diagnosis, he wants to help me and be there for me if I’m suffering.
I know he has depression issues and I know how hard it can be for him some days to wanna do anything.
It just makes me feel lucky I have someone like that.

My girlfriend has schizophrenia. We’ve been together for 5 years, and its been, by far, the best years of my life. As for the schizophrenia aspect, I think the fact that she has exclusively negative and cognitive symptoms, and my symptoms are exclusively positive that are well-controlled, has been a significant factor.

I don’t think our relationship is much different than any other relationship. I’m 53, and she’s a few years older (she sometimes tells me that she robbed the cradle), so that helps.

The secret to our relationship? We love each other.

I met someone sz on this site on the old forum and we got married…unfortunately we were delusional most of the time we were married and made horrible financial decisions which eventually caused our divorce.
