I just found out that the cost of Austedo, the medication for my TD costs $6000 bucks for one months supply! (60 tablets)
With insurance it will cost me around $1000 dollars per month!
I cannot afford this medication but thankfully my psychiatrist is enrolling me in a patient assistance program where I could be paying nothing for this med!
Hopefully I’ll get accepted and approved by my pharmacy
I need some kind of relief for my TD symptoms as soon as possible!
Yeah this is one of the “YEEHAW WE RICH” medicines where people charge hundreds/thousands for something that costs them much less. I’m glad you have a way to get ahold of it.
People who have Medicare don’t qualify. There’s a really stupid law against it. Do you have Medicare? I do and applied for the patient assistance program and was told that o don’t qualify because of the law
@Moonbeam
I’ve tried most of the atypicals and Risperdal is the only effective med for me.
My psychiatrist said that all APs have the risk to worsen TD so she doesn’t want to make any changes right now.
Good news! My insurance covers Austedo
I’ll have a copay but it’s doable!
I think it’s crap that drug companies jack the price of certain medications because the people who most desperately need them will pay higher prices to ease symptoms, and the drug companies take advantage of them.
Idk how anyone in USA can afford healthcare 1 thousand dollars wtf who has that kinda money also I’ve heard freaking horror stories about medical procedures costing loads of money
I was told one time if I wanted a faster cornea transplant I could go to the states and it would cost 100k in total HOWEVER here in Canada the Tim hortons coffee was more expensive than the the parking bill and the cornea transplant was free
