Would you risk it all to do a little bit of weed

I did not. It’s spelled:

S C H I Z O P H E R N I A.

Edit: You’re right. I’m wrong. It’s RE not ER.

I might be dyslexic.

I have never used marijuana, but I get tempted to. I get really impulsive sometimes and my thoughts get pretty out there. But I won’t actually do it, because I’ve heard it’ll make my psychosis worse.

How did you develop schizophrenia?

It was genetic for me. My mom and sister both have schizoaffective / schizophrenia. So, I’m just unlucky. It runs in my family.

When did you or those around you notice you had sz?

I was diagnosed with depression at age 12 and then anxiety at age 15. I think that’s when it started. I had my first psychotic episode when I was 17 or 18, but I didn’t actually figure out I was psychotic until I was 23. I was finally diagnosed as schizoaffective when I was 24.

My wife smokes too. She blows it in my face sometimes also. I haven’t touched the stuff since college and that’s been over 25 years ago now.

It used to make me goofy and laugh but I hear it also makes you paranoid and I have had enough of that.

My paranoia used to be totally disabling all by itself. Didn’t need any other symptoms but of course I had them and the delusions and hallucinations just made it worse.

No thank you.

No drugs? No alcohol? No nothing?

Nope, not that triggered the psychosis. My first drink wasn’t until I was 20. I’ve never done any kind of drug other than alcohol.

Smart kitty, illicit drugs are not good.
IME alcohol is probably the worst drug of all.
I think that’s why it’s legal.

Amazin! I’m glad you weren’t exposed.

I’m just wondering how else someone might experience psychosis?

How does it happen?

I also got psychosis without doing any drugs or alcohol. I started hearing things at 14, and didn’t have my first alcoholic drink until 16. I tried pot three times at age 24, but I was already well into my psychosis by then.

So did I. I was 14 as well. To this day, I haven’t the slightest idea how all of these people living smack in the middle of “swearing is a sin” town USA even get drugs in the first place. Additionally, I’ve only had a few sips of alcohol in my entire life, and I’m pretty sure it actually got nastier as I grew older.

Can confirm. I am so over alcohol as a concept. It just makes me sleepy and gives me a headache.

“Others would say, “No.” The symptoms are gone, and you are no longer experiencing psychosis; therefore, you’re not a schizo.”

I wouldn’t listen this b.s., if you feel you are no longer schizophrenic
you’re bound to off your meds, and then you WILL be psychotic.

They wouldn’t give us a check if they didn’t know how hard it is to keep a job.

schizophrenic is recognized as the 3rd most debilitating disability you can have.

I’m the paranoid type, and it never goes away, no matter how high my meds.

I used to smoke but it made me so paranoid there’s no way I could do it even for a short period of time. It could have possibly triggered or even caused my schizophrenia. I’ve never had a good experience with it. Last time I kept looking out my window checking for cops.

I guess he never responded to me, he or she.

Those around me did not know I was schizophrenic until I lost my ■■■■ and started talking to people who weren’t present and available for conversation meaning I was talking to imaginary people kind but still imaginary people
