Schizophrenia and weed

Does anyone (who’s schizophrenic) and smokes weed notices that it triggers psychosis? For me it does. When I smoke weed i start to have a schizophrenic episode but the best part is that I’m not scared. I guess it’s my own kind of lsd trip without actually taking lsd. Lol

Since having SZ, pot works really bad on me. I’ve tried to smoke couple of times since then and the effect was terrible. I never feel worse, no other drugs ever had such a negative impact on me. When I had voices it’s been only after somking weed. I also think it’s the main reason I actually had got ill.

its a deadly combination. I used to live high on weed in y teens and twenties. I also think it played a huge role in me developing this illness. Its an instant ticket to the psych ward now, literally one or two puffs and I have russian mafia in my room with me.

I never found pot to be really enjoyable. It’s worse when I smoke it while on an antipsychotic. I don’t look down on people who smoke weed. I think weed is less dangerous than alcohol. I just don’t enjoy pot.

I smoked daily for a few years. About two years ago I stopped. When I was in the process of quitting I’d spend a few weeks sober and occasionally smoke. My tolerance had gone down and it I remember the more potent strains would lead to an episode much like you described FrankTheTank888. Before my diagnosis I didn’t smoke very much so I can’t say for sure it was the cause of schizophrenia for me personally, it just runs in my family but maybe it was a factor. I guess if I knew then what I know now about marijuana’s link to schizophrenia I wouldn’t have smoked, but then I didn’t know schizophrenia ran in my family either, it was very hush hush. I knew an uncle had it but as it turns out there are about 5 people with a severe mental illness on my dad’s side. I don’t have anything against weed but I would advise against it for people at risk of developing schizophrenia i.e. people who have relatives with schizophrenia.

well, I don’t buy it anymore but when it’s offered I smoke weed. I don’t “trip” like you say on the high grade, but I do feel relaxed and care free.

It definitely helps with depression. I don’t always trip either but one time I remember I did. I began to hear voices telling me that people who were crying burned slower in concentration camps during the Holocaust. I remember hearing a name, Yusef Piety. It was strange. I have no idea how it got to that. It was a heavy strain I normally smoked regularly before. After that though, I smoked a few more times and didn’t flip out but the strain wasn’t as potent. Sometimes I miss it but I decided to quit smoking in general. My lungs aren’t what they used to be, quitting tobacco far more difficult.

Haha yes it’s like acid for me but I do get scared but it’s the real me when I’m on it

Lol yeah it’s like I’m tripping but the cbd in the weed gets completely rid of my anxiety and I just sit there watching things move and hearing things

Trust me as someone who’s had some FAR OUT acid trips, it doesn’t really compare.

there is a new strain of weed, called schizophrenia, it has a 500% chance of giving you schizophrenia if you smoke it in your teens. Scientists are not sure which came first, the schizophrenia or the schizophrenia

kinda amplifies regular schizo stuff… but only if you’ve been on a weed break

Doesn’t give me psychosis but I trip out on it a little bit

Weed is an entheogen it’s known to make people see things and hear voices. They are spirits.

I used to smoke and it was always relaxing, never a head trip kind of thing. I stopped because it just got to be boring. It was easy to stop.
