Won't prescribe ADHD meds

the appointment was via video and they won’t prescribe me adhd medication which I fully understand why. its because of my history of psychosis and I need to be monitored by my local mental health team in person. so they will ask my gp to refer me to my local mental health team instead who should be able to prescribe.

I believe there’s one medication which isn’t a stimulant that can be proscribed in the NHS.

yeah I know but even that carries a risk of psychosis. so they want me to be under my mental health team and monitored. I went to a clinic via right to choose (which is a private clinic funded by the nhs)

That’s probably a good thing, having the CMHT accessible will save you time when you need to see a doctor

Yes I asked about that. But she said it still carries risk and I need to be properly monitored so she’ll discharge me back to my GP who will refer me to a local adhd clinic who can then prescribe. its so long
