I believe its cos my case is more complicated cos of my psychosis., I found it a waste of time… they did offer group therapy though.
Adhd meds worsen psychosis.
Yes , although they have non stimulant alternatives so I assumed it would be worth a try.
So are you going to see your Gp about it?
Same thing happened to me years ago. I went through lots of appointments and they came to the conclusion it wasn’t good for me.
I assume the GP won’t be able to prescribe as it’s not their speciality. So it’s going to be a referral to NHS again. So I’m not sure I want the extra hassle
I can understand that.
Ask for low dose amisulpride or low dose flupentixol. They both increase dopamine in those levels and can help with focus.
Even if I had ADHD which if refute because it is my basic understanding that in ADHD you have too little dopamine (correct me if I am wrong) amphetamines are subject to abuse and from people who I have spoken to don’t take the correct dose.
Concerta made me manic.
I use two non-stimulant adhd meds. Atomoxetine 80mg and intuniv 2mg. I think they help a heap. I cant get stimulants due to the sza, history of addiction and heart problems. Would be cool though haha.
I told them I have a history of psychosis. Didn’t stop them from diagnosing so I’m not sure if this is accurate ?
