Due to my medication my hair has completely died. My mid length curly hair is no longer my crowning glory.

Hair falls out in handfuls, it is dry, strands of dead hair get entangled in what once were curls, and there is a ton of breakage.

I have come to the decision that there is only one option open to me and that is to shave it all off and keep it shaved as the damage starts at the hair follicles.

I am so scared, especially since I am no longer young. I am now an overweight middle aged greying old lady. It is going to look so terrible on me, but feel I have no other choice.

What to do?

tbh it’s one of my fears having to cut off all my hair. i think it’s brave of you that you will do that.

It is terrible, especially for a woman to have this happen. I hate the medication so much. Not brave, scared to death.

If you really feel like you need to shave your head, maybe you can invest in some nice wigs. They’d be easy to manage if your real hair was gone.

Or maybe you can talk to a hairdresser about what to do to save your hair.

I remember when I lost my hair from chemo, and it was just awful.

Have you been to a decent salon for a consultation?

There may be something you can do to get it in better condition and looking nicer.

I never even thought about wigs. Good idea.

As for saving my hair I don’t think so unless I was to stop the medication and I can’t.

Last time I went for a trim, the hairdresser told me to stop the medication.

My hair is not as nice as it was pre-menopause. Menopause just killed my hair.

At least a lot of men understand hair loss. Hair loss looks great on men though, not so much middle aged women lol,

I love wigs! I even have some in weird colors.
