I want to cut off my hair

I have lice again. I can’t afford to keep buying the cures!
And I need special ones because I have so thick and long hair, AND it takes forever to apply it.

If this one doesn’t take, I’ll have to cut my hair short. I can’t keep on like this.
I’m thinking about just doing it now, but I don’t want to make any rash desicions.
After all, just because I feel bad and the situation feels hopeless, doesn’t mean I’ll feel that way later.

I don’t want to look ugly. I don’t have the face nor weight for short hair, and I want to keep what little femininity I have.

But right now, it feels like I have no choice, and I’m starting to feel like I should just get it overwith.
But I’m also scared I might regret it.

What do you guys think?

Have you also been bagging up all your bedding for two weeks, treating all your furniture and carpets, and making sure you don’t come into contact with other people who also have lice? If you don’t do those things, it will keep coming back.

But lice can be tricky to get rid of on your own. You need a person to pick through your hair and remove all the eggs. I would probably just shave my head, but I don’t care about femininity.

The pharmacist told me I just needes to worry about things that had been in close contact with my hair, and to keep those things isolated for a few days

I would suck it up and shave it off if at home treatments weren’t keeping the lice at bay for very long. But that’s just me. The last time I had lice, we bagged up all of my plush toys and ended up burning them, but that was when I was a kid. My parents found that easier than treating my toys.

You can cut your hair and put this image

I’m very sorry to hear that Berru.

Those little ■■■■■■■■ have always avoided me, even though some of my classmates in elementary school would get contaminated quite often.

Gotta do what you gotta do. You’ll be feminine with short hair too. I’ve seen your pics. You look cute

You really need to bag up everything for two weeks, and wash all your all machine washable items in hot water. I was a cheerleader for sixteen years, so I’m very familiar with stubborn lice.

Damn.
I don’t have any money on my laundry card, and I can’t afford to use the coinwash :disappointed_relieved:

I talked to some friends about it on Facebook as well as my dad, because he coincidentally messaged me to ask about the lice.

My friends told me they understood it sucked. One tried to get me to see the positives in having short hair (dye would be cheaper, I could wear earrings and cool hats, etc)
And my dad told me his part-time fosterchildren had recently had lice, and had needed two cures as well, so in his opinion I should give the cure another try before getting rid of the hair.

I don’t know about anything.
It would be easier to apply it if I got rid of the hair first, but in case I decide against that, I should apply it soon.
I don’t know. I’m so confused.

If you decide to cut your hair, I think something like this would look really good on you and it would be super easy to (not need to) style.

Thanks
I’ve had hair similar to that before. I don’t think I’d be able to cut it like that by myself anymore, but I remember it looked good.

Most people require two treatments. That is because any eggs left on your hair after you treat could hatch. then, you need to reapply the treatment to kill the bugs that have hatched before they are mature enough to lay eggs.
Generally, you wait about a week between each treatment. Bag up anything you don’t absolutely need for two weeks, and treat the rest of the stuff. Washing your clothes and bedding is essential, though. The treatment only kills the live bugs for about ten minutes while it’s on your head, and if any bugs are hiding in your bedding, they’ll climb back on and reinfest you.

Lice don’t like short hair, but if you live alone, and they’re in your house, they won’t have anywhere else to go. So they’ll still stay on you. It is easier to treat short hair, though.
