I lose a lot of hair every time I wash. I clean a bunch out of the drain. And my brush is full of hair. I honestly don’t know how there’s any hair left on my head at this point. I don’t know if this is meds or age. Is anybody else having this issue?
I lose my hair in the bath too
is it a lot? You have such glorious hair.
Not too bad but my mom made a comment of it tho!! When she went in the bathroom hair in the drain. I said it wasn’t me. She said it most definitely was.
I kinda have a bald spot in the back but I can’t see it. Might be from wearing hats Idk.
I lost A LOT of hair when I started Abilify.
My doctor denied and denied that was the issue,
But I know it was.
He had the audacity to blame my age and I was 33.
It was like your hair comes out after you have a baby,
Just massive amounts.
I had to cut my long, beautiful hair to make it look less thin.
Women do lose hair when they get older,
But it could be medication.
I know it was for me and my hair stylist said that’s super, super common.
Yes! I lose so much hair I can’t believe I still have it. It’s crazy!
My thyroid tested normal. I think it may be stress, but it could also be the hair products I use.
When I was using environmentally safe and chemical free shampoo, I lost tons of hair. Now that I switched to another shampoo my hair falls out less than before but I’m still losing it.
It’s natural to lose more and more hair the older and older we get.
It started for me in my late 40’s. I always had super long, super thick, wavy-curly, beautiful hair. Then, at age 48, pre menopausal, it started falling out leaving thick piles of hair all over the bathroom floor. It eventually became long and stringy looking so, I cut it off to my shoulders.
Eventually even that looked stringy and bad so I had to cut it even shorter. Now, in my early 60’s, my hair is so thin now that I have to cut it almost into a man’s style.
This is all just the facts of life of growing older girls. That is why the vast majority of older women you see over 60 have short hair. @LilyoftheValley @GoldenRex @Leaf .
My grandmothers did the same thing, then would get perms, but they had “boy short” hair, and it was thin.
My hair is thinning on Olanzapine
I never realized AP’s could cause hair loss. I was on 40mg of Olanzapine for 15 years but fortunately never had a hair thinning problems. I’ve been on a bunch of other AP/AD/Benzos and haven’t had that problem either. Now I am a little worried.
There is baldness on my mothers side of the family but so far I seem to have taken after my dad and his father and have a full head of hair. I hope I never go bald, I shaved my head once and didn’t like the way I looked. Not completely bald but really short.
I’ve been in menopause since 2012 when I had my ovaries and uterus removed. That must be why my hair is falling out. No hormones
Could be, I don’t know much about it but my mom is in her 70s, she had a hysterectomy about 30 years ago due to a tumour. Her hair has barely thinned at all. She isn’t on hormones either.
That sounds promising @Headspark. Thanks! I take vitamins everyday, so it’s not that. Who knows? My mom still has thick hair too and she’s 74.
My hair loss is not due to medication, I know it as I started getting bald and losing lots of hair way before I was put on meds.
I shave at 0 with clippers, it suits me ppl around me say as I have a big head.
I’m bald and also buzz my hair as short as the clippers go @Aziz
I didn’t start getting a receding hairline until my early 50’s and have been taking meds since my 20’s so I presume it’s age.
I’ve been worrying about my hair since about 2008/2009 . I had a period of about 5-6 months where I was inadvertently washing my hair with conditioner rather than shampoo. I think that f***** things up a bit.
I think saphris causes hair loss @Leaf
Yep. Since I started Olanzapine my hair is thinning as well. I have a receding hairline now. I’m 33 years old and I may become bald.
