Woke up with a terrible headache

These damn headaches. It’s related to the arthritis in my neck. My neck muscles tighten up because of the arthritis and it causes tension headaches. They can get so bad it’s almost to the level of pain as a migraine but not usually with the nausea. I took my pain meds and I’m feeling a little better now but it still hurts. And there’s this stinging sensation in my neck kind of like a bee sting. I am waiting for the next round of physical therapy to start and haven’t had traction for a week. I really need it. I have to wait till next Weds for it to start back up. They are talking about getting me a traction machine for my house so I can do traction all the time. They’ll have to submit it to my insurance company for approval. I would really appreciate that.

I’m sorry to hear that.
Do you have stretching exercises you can do or massage techniques that help?
Will applying heat to the neck help in any way?

I don’t have arthritis, but I do get neck pains. I usuallyvstand under a very warm shower for a while, then stretch, massage, and stretch again.
I also try to crack it, but it’s not recommended

Yes, I have 4 stretching exercises that I do throughout the day to keep the muscles loose. I have a massage tool and my ex uses it on those muscles to loosen them up but I didn’t ask him to do it yesterday. That’s probably why I have such a bad headache today. Just got too tight.
