I want to go back to school but ssd wrote me a letter and asked if I was in school.
I was on ssd for many years and went back to school many times while on it. They never tried to take me off my benefits. I think they only try when you work full time and you make too much.

I think you can go to school part time without losing benefits but I’m not positive.
Most people won’t lose benefits, but I will. I had my loans forgiven because of my disability, and to give me new loans, the government wants a letter saying that I am capable of gainful employment. That would negate my disability.
It seems unfair, though. I can still pay student loans on disability even if I can’t work. It gives me no chance to improve my situation. It sucks,.
