Will abilify work if I insist?

I went to the appointment, it’s a lot of anxiety but it’s worth it, the doctor gave me 2mg of risperidone and gradually increase it to 6mg He did not allow higher doses to be used only at the next appointment.

How did cbt help you?

Is it that you have to push past it but still live with the symptoms? So they never go away but you learn to do things with them?

My worst symptom is alogia (having no thoughts)

What is alogia?

Poverty of thought. Having no thoughts amd being mute

That’s pretty much it, yes. You can learn to not let them drag you down so much. Same with the positives.

I had that initially. I had to push myself to move past it. It was a long slow process.

It gives me hope that it can improve. Im feeling really bad today. I worry i have it too severe now and it will never get better. How bad would you say you had alogia? Was it to the point that you never spoke and when your did you answer’s were very short and simple?

Yes. I was like this three decades back after being diagnosed.

Sorry to bother you last question, risperidone has already made me sleepy at 2mg, when it goes to 6 what do I do? I’m watching TV or playing on my cell phone and my head goes down and my eyes close, I try to resist but I can’t, I had to lie down for a while.

Caffeine helps me. Are you taking it with Abilify? Maybe Abilify helps together

The sedation and sleepiness get a bit better with time

How many cups of coffee do you drink?

Rarely drink coffee, mostly decaf at night but I take 2x 200mg caffeine pills and an energy drink about 500mg of caffeine a day. I don’t recommend going over 400mg as thats considered max recommended dose, at 600+mg I get anxiety and fast beating heart
