Good riddance to Abilify!

I woke up today with a good amount of depression, haven’t felt this depressed in a while.
Started to feel an increase in paranoia yesterday and today it’s worse.

Starting to feel that the new groceries I bought are drugged.

I wanted to give Abilify another chance but it’s clearly not for me.

Going to stop taking it starting tomorrow

Now I’m back to square one again.

I guess I’ll have no choice but to increase my Risperdal dose to 5mg like my doctor agreed to

I really don’t like this option but I may have no choice.

I’ll see how my moods fare in a couple of days and take it from there.

I hate this crap!

I have always faired better on the two partial dopamine agonists ive been on myslef. (Abilify and Vrayler). Haldol and Invega were not kind to me in many ways.

But we are all different.

I’m sorry the Abilify isn’t going to work out for you.

I just had my Risperidone increased to 6 mg today, so yeah…I get it. HUGS

No, I don’t do well on partial dopamine agonists

First it was Abilify then it was Vraylar

I was hospitalized when I was on Vraylar

Yeah we are all different @Bowens

I don’t know, now I’m feeling better
My father thinks that I was a bit symptomatic this morning because I only got 4 hours sleep last night.

I’m now thinking of continuing with the Abilify, it’s only 2mg

Yeah maybe I’ll continue with it and see how things go

My dr keeps urging me to keep trying abilify despite my symptoms, it could just be it’s not working yet, they can take forever to kick in properly and it’s hard to remember that

If you’re only getting a few hours sleep a night, you need to report that to your psychiatrist.

That can be dangerous.

Yea abilify gives me depression too. Gonna reduce it at some point soon

Yeah but honestly it’s partially my fault
I haven’t been taking a sleep aide for it
Going to start taking Klonopin for it.

Insomnia is a known side effect of Abilify

Yeah you are right @Moon
I should be more patient

It takes time for these meds to work and also it takes time to get used to the side effects

I hope the meds work out for you too

abilify caused my first divorce. long story short we were both sz (met on this forum), and both on abilify and we caused financial damage in a half a million dollar bankruptcy. her family blamed me…it was both of us…but they talked her into leaving me so that was that…anyways…before we split we both got on older meds…me on fluphenazine and her on perphenazine…we both take this med to this day…cheap…only 4 bucks a script with my pharmacy…works wonders…

Juke half a million dollars is 3.500.000 dkr. Did you both worked as white collar workers since you could lend that amount of money.
Gosh I’m glad that I only took Abilify for two weeks. I’m not going on any dopamine stabilizer or modulator 3. Gen antipsychotics.

Juke I’m sorry on behalf of you and your X wife :broken_heart:. But will you ever be able to pay back the money to the creditors.

Just because a drug doesn’t work for one isn’t true for everyone. It’s also a bad idea to blame a drug on all of ones bad choices.

I agree with you in that all drugs comes with their own sets of effects and side effects.
The reason for me stopping Abilify was that ii caused hyper sexuality to me.
Now I’m on a drug combination that causes loss of libido and inability’s to get drunk from alcohol.
Those are more welcome to me because those two side effects ridden me for many problems I had with those things.
F.x. Having a wife that ruin your economics or getting drunk and do and say loads of totally stupid things.
We cannot slame Abilify for causing people going into ruin I agree with you.
Let’s say you are in dept onto the chimney with 100.000 $ then all of your alarm bells should ring.

Please!!
I had a discussion with my brother and he thinks that quitting the drug so soon is not in my best interest.
He feels that I should give it some more time.
If I do end up continuing with it, it’s because it helps my negative symptoms

Without the Abilify I end up lying about on the couch all day!

With the Abilify I am more productive and I enjoy playing my guitar again.

I will play it by ear and see how I feel tomorrow

Ugh!!!
