If you have never posted elsewhere on the forum? Often on the “post a selfie” thread I see pics of people I have never heard of. Why? Do some people create a profile simply so they can post a selfie? Or are these people lurkers on the forum? Either way, I don’t understand it.

Maybe they enjoy reading positive things said about their pictures such as that they are good looking…
That they expect that and get a kick out of reading g all the compliments about their appearance.
Or maybe they want people to feel better about them by seeing their pictures.

I’m surprised I posted a selfie since I’m so insecure about my looks. I think I wanted to be brave. Also I like knowing what others look like just out of curiosity so I thought others would like it too.
I enjoy seeing the selfie’s but honestly I’ve never taken one of me , let alone posted one… Never noticed the non posters selfie’s, just figured I missed there post’s. Kinda strange Maybe all they want to contribute IDK.
I post because I have anonymity, people can know my real name in PMs. If anyone homestly cared enought to find out more about me (I doubt it). What’s important is that no one can trace me back to this site, I would be embarrassed to be known as “crazy” and it would close doors for things like employment and school.

I feel like it is just another way to attempt to be social and not a bad thing. I think it is funny. Normally I associate selfies with younger people but I am almost 43 and have done it now. Trying to keep up with the youngsters I guess.
I have only spoken to one other schizophrenic in my life and she wasn’t lucid. I appreciate seeing and hearing everyone here. It is quite a diverse bunch.
