@jga you don’t know the level of someone’s illness. Nor are you an expert on all the drugs. None of us here are. Please refrain from such comments.
I said maybe i dont understand why you angry i didnt do anything wrong
I’m far from angry.
So what is your issue? You want to be on invega and your doctor won’t prescribe it or what?
The best way to ruin someone future especially if he is living in a third world country is to give him bad drugs for schizophrenia thats what i am not understanding why people dont have awareness or nowhere on the internet i can find which drug is the best is invega better than risperdal please someone tell me
Invega is expensive. People in 3rd world countries cannot afford it.
I have always heard that Invega is similar to risperdal(the name brand for risperidone) . But the best shot you have of really getting this answered is to consult doctors on this.
If you have wasta in lebanon here you can get it for 184 bank dollars or 480 dollars if you money in the bank is in lebanese pounds so yes i can still afford it
None of us are experts in all meds. We have our own experiences to draw off but you need a doctor to really answer questions about efficacy and side effects.
I personally could not stand how Invega made me feel so I switched to abilify.
First post. I’ve been on both. First risperdal consta for 3 years. Now invega trinza for 2. I’ve experienced much less jaw clenching with invega, but more dystonia of eyes with invega. Now I take benztropine for dystonia. The main reason I switched was because missing work once every 3 weeks for risperidone shot was no longer an option. So I asked my doc and progressed to 3 month trinza. As far as the MOA, paliperidone is a downstream metabolite of risperidone. They work much the same way in my experience. That being said I prefer invega.
Welcome to the forum @Unplugged . Nice first post.
Thank you. I’ve been a visitor for a few months but figured maybe I could do some good by posting
Risperdal is prescribed more because it’s usually more effective than invega and it’s cheaper.
And for some of us, Invega is an awful drug. I am not exaggerating when I say it ruined my life. I am picking up the pieces now.
Well paliperidone didn’t work for me but risperidone did so…
I did okay on invega, but it was Haldol and Topamax that ruined my life. I had a bad reaction to Clozaril (a short lived experiment) because I was on several other meds (high doses) at the same time and had to go to ICU for NMS (neuro-leptic malignant syndrome). I recovered a bit.
I think risperidone is just known or been around longer and is CHEAP basically and well available and well known, basically.
I refused to take olanzapine because of the extra risk of diabetes and obesity. I’m already high risk.
I can’t take topamax. Get very angry and aggressive. I lost it and slapped my husband.
I got extremely paranoid but got less dp/dr out of it. I started getting delusional paranoia and stuff like off the wall, checking outlets for cameras and listening devices and stuff. That was years ago. I got the micro-chip delusion back then from it…
