to keep this house i live in i need to clean. i dont feel the ability to clean its like my minds reaching for it but its not there.
im sick of trying to explain that to my family without them acknowledging it. i cant feel cleaning
the difficulty of this disease is there is no reprieve when you pray. you can pray all day but still cant clean

I have the same issue with cleaning. The only advice I have is to do a little whenever you can. If you spent 20 minutes everyday doing some kind of cleaning there probably wouldn’t be much to work on.

I’m bad at cleaning, too. And cooking. And showering.
Another piece of advice I got for cleaning that I just remembered is to put music on when you do it.
And another is to separate jobs. Rather than saying “Im gonna clean this whole room” break it down further into things like, removing trash, putting things away, dusting, hoovering etc. That way even if you dont finish the room it feels like you have accomplished some of it.
I hate cleaning. I clean in chunks. A chunk here and then a chunk there. If I get up with the intention of cleaning a room, I wind up watching bad TV. If I just pick an area of a room, I get it done. Clean enough chunks and you’ve cleaned an area.

You must have different priorities that conflict with cleaning. You need to prioritize everything. Some days some priorities don’t get done because other things need to get done. Just do something. Don’t have options paralysis from having too much to do so you do nothing. Knock things out. You’re a boss.
It was a major problem for me when living in an 11th floor flat in Essex. With no support nearby. I’d get totally overwhelmed trying to work out how to proceed with the task. I then went into avoidant mode, and basically lived in a dirty, untidy, mess of a flat. It very much had to do with my EF related organising and planning difficulties. The struggle I have when it comes to multiple step tasks and prioritising.
Nowadays my granddaughters help to keep my flat clean and tidy. I pay them a small amount for doing so.
I just saw a commercial on TV for something called homeaglow that said they’ll clean your house for $19. Maybe you can try that. It’s a lot cheaper than the $100 you said it would cost to clean your house @PikaTchu
I can’t stand cleaning. I’m lethargic at the best of times, lacking motivation! However, be methodical… Line up the cleaning cloths and bleach etc and tackle one area at a time. So don’t think about it, just do one step at a time!
Maybe put up a notice in the laundromat or the library or somewhere similar that you’re looking for inexpensive help to clean your house. Maybe specify you’re looking for a responsible college student or even a responsible high school student to come in and clean. Then if someone comes and does it, afterwards it will be easier to do housework to keep it clean. I use to see notices like that all the time to do yard work or housework when I was growing up, I don’t know if people still put those up. Paying a student to come in and clean would be cheaper than paying a cleaning service and you can still pay them a fair wage.
