apartment once in the seven months that I have lived here. Not even tidied it up once. Only emptied the trash, done the dishes and laundry, and cleaned the tub. Nothing else. No mopping, dusting or vacuuming. I am living in a pig sty. And I’m too scared of thieves and scammers to hire a maid. Much too scared. I have zero motivation to clean. I told my pdoc about it and there’s nothing he can do. Except lower my medication and he doesn’t want to do that. So, I’m stuck.
I clean my place, in order to make it look presentable. Especially if someone is coming from the housing department to do an inspection or repair something or whatever.
Very good for you.
Do some tidying up for 5 minutes a day and maybe work your way up to 10 minutes a day? Or every other day?
yeah, maybe baby steps once a day? if there are overwhelming tasks try to do the hard stuff first and then it won’t seem so bad.
I don’t clean my house either. I mean I put food away. And I take my dishes to the sink. Sometimes I sweep the kitchen floor
You could try adding 1 small task to what you regularly do. Sweep one room one day, mop that room the next day. Sweep another room the day after that, etc. oh but you shou dust one room a day first until they’re all dusted and then do the floors. It’s easier if you break up the tasks.
I can just echo what everyone said - one small, achievable goal at a time.
We have cleaning ladies (maids) come do our house once a month.
I was anxious at first but we ask for the same people to come over to the house and clean our place.
Maybe you can do the same thing @SkinnyMe.
I usually do the dishes and clean kitchen, every other day. Vacuum one week. Clean the bathroom and mop floors, the next. It seems easier, and its not so hard to clean.
