I know that. But, that’s a different kind of baby.
A baby is a baby is a baby. Words have a meaning. Sometimes the meaning is powerful. I view with suspicion the motives of someone calling me baby.

My husband and I don’t have nicknames for each other. Sometimes we joke and call each other “Babe” and “Baby”. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with calling someone “Baby”, it’s a term of endearment, but it sounds silly between us and makes us laugh…
@PinCushion, I think it is partially generational. In my generation, it was common for lover’s to call each other “baby” and it had sexual and emotional connotations back then. Now, not so much. All the songs, in those days, used the word, and it was not frowned upon.

I dislike certain names of endearment like babe, monkey, puppy, I don’t know sooner babes are just flat out dumb to me
