Why are some threads getting locked after 3 days of the last post, but others are qued from 2 years ago? Is this new policy?

threads pop up, but the more recent ones are all locked.

Lounge threads get locked 4 days after the last post, unless they’re moved to the lounge.

Some threads get locked because mods and admins think they should.

yeah, I know.

What I’m saying is, I’m seeing posts from 2 years ago.

People are replying to it. It’s the dawn of the ressurected posts! Run for your internet!

Any thread that predates the Lounge category was moved there when the Lounge was created a few months ago.

The three day rule is automatic for all new posts created in the Lounge, but posts created elsewhere don’t have that feature, even if they’re moved to the Lounge.

Edit: here’s one that was just created in Meta and moved to the Lounge yesterday. It won’t close automatically:

I hate to acquiesce in any form of censorship, but I think for our purposes on this site we should be circumspect about triggering issues.

I agree completely, didn’t mean that they shouldn’t be locked. Now rereading it seems that way, but it wasn’t. My apologies.

thank you @Rhubot,

my coming and going from the site,
can’t always keep up with the goings-on.

@crimby on the old site we used to post
in subject line, "Might be very Triggering"
and I think it’s a good idea
to use it again.

I find that a lot of the less stable people are constantly resurrecting old threads that fit with their delusions.

Yeah true. The suggested topics are alluring

A thread with the title “Im a poopiehead” should be kept open forever IMO.@flameoftherhine
