I’ve heard metformin can help you lose the weight you gained on antipsychotics. Who uses this?

There was another recent post about metformin being used as a life extension drug.
I got put on metformin because of the blood sugar spikes due to the Seroquel.
It did help me keep the weight down and easier to manage. But it’s main reason was to keep diabetes away.

I have been on Metformin for years now.
I lost a lot of weight, when I first started taking it, but it doesnt make me lose weight anymore - just the first year.
Metformin is one of the safest Diabetes drugs around, some of the other diabetes drugs mess with your heart and/or pancreas too much, Metformin doesnt do this.
It might be a good drug, if you suffer from pre - diabetes also - talk to your doctor about it.
I have diabetes and so I take Metformin, I have tried to lose some extra weight, but been unsuccessful.
