Who here has a job ? I have 48 years old but i worked just 10 years during my life.
Since 16 years ago i do not work i have a state french pension for my schizophrenia.
I have 1015 euros of state pension and 295 euros of help state to pay my rent house.
I think that this system become me lazy and i am not an example for my family and country.
I want to work even just 20 hours by week to start.

I have the US equivalent of a state pension, am job hunting this week just finished a program for customer service and office administration and hope to find something remote because close proximity is difficult for me with strangers

I had a remote job, hopefully they will rehire me

I’m 33, worked for 10 years and have been on disability for 8 years.

So why not send out resumes, online or in person ?

I have worked since I was 12 years old with some gaps

Right now I have a remote job and that works well for me

Never used to like working from home, but now I know the value and how good it is

Not having the time and cost of the commute is a very good thing

Also being able to create my optimal working environment

Open plan offices made me lose it many times

You program right? Do you work with a team on the phone and by email? And just code from your home computer?

I would love to do something like that but I’m not focused enough

I work in a sense. Ever since high school I’ve either been volunteering full-time or working; I got this illness in high school by the way.

I’d rather work and struggle than to not work at all. I’m not putting down people who can’t work, but it’s just a personal preference of mine.

We use Teams, email etc

They provide everything I need

Yep do coding and much more

Have learned a lot the past two years!

I’ve been employed almost steadily since 1983. I’ve been at my current janitor job about 13 years.
I was diagnosed in 1980 at age 19.

I work full time at the college in the college town where I live.

I do office work and payroll for the two dining halls on campus.

I don’t have schizophrenia, but I am autistic and experience psychosis.

I’ve been working for almost 13 years. I hate it. But I can’t afford to be unemployed for the year to qualify for disability.

I hate it less now that I have a good job.

I’m a pest control worker/exterminator. It’s a decent job. Can be stressful some days… but the pay is decent. I really enjoy it sometimes
