Who cuts your hair?

It’s funny when I was Psychotic I started going to the Barbers again to get my haircut (Buzzed)

Now that I’m back on a higher dose of Risperidone and feeling more grounded my Anxiety levels are more intense, I really don’t feel like going to the Barber to get my hair buzzed.

In the past I would buzz my own hair and have my father help.
I want to keep my hair real short so I think that I’ll cut my own hair this time.
Too anxious and paranoid to let a professional touch my hair.

Who cuts your hair? :barber:

I go to the same barbers I went to as a kid, some of the staff are the same too!

I wonder if they recognise me still? At least no one calls me by name

If it was up to me I would buzz cut my hair but I look eerily similar to Michael Jackson in the simpsons.

I think you should take a benzo and challenge yourself and go. For me I have to challenge myself to do things because you know this illness will gradually keep you from leaving the house.

I have a hard time getting my hair cut because I don’t like people touching me and I hate small talk. Last year I just let my hair grow. Well at the end of the year I got a shorter cut that requires a trim every 6 weeks. It’s been getting easier going because I click with my hair dresser and we like the same things.

For me I have to challenge myself to leave the house. Now it’s more negative symptoms than positive or anxiety. :sunny:

Buy a cheep machine and do it yourself.I do it,but being hairdresser it’s not hard.Still have people coming for cut in my place.

I used to cut and dye my own hair for years.

Now I get Steph the apprentice to do it, she does a really good job.

I go to the same barber I went to for my first real haircut when I was a little kid. I’ve gone elsewhere when I lived in other parts of the country, but for the past few years I’ve been back living near where I grew up. Two of the three barbers have passed away, so it’s just one barber there now, Larry. Larry knows me by name, knew my dad, and it’s nice to go to someone who knows me and who I am comfortable talking to.

A few years ago, I said that I would start getting my head shaved when my hair got much thinner on top. Now that it is super thin on top, I keep saying I’ll start shaving it once I work up the nerve to do so. I don’t want to do like my dad did and have hair on the sides and back with nothing on top.

I used to go to barbershops every week or two, when I was a kid. got my haircut done very well.

nowadays, I’m not into the music playing in barbershops nor the crowds within them. I bought my own hair clipper, a few months ago… don’t ask how it went! :stuck_out_tongue:

but yeah, I haven’t cut my hair for like months. I just make sure it’s clean with shampoo.

I go to a barber who gives me a flat-top haircut. I went through a lot of barbers before I found this barber, for it’s not easy to do a flat top correctly.
