Does England have a good mental healthcare system?

In America we hear that it’s more progressive than ours.

Maybe I should move there lol I wish they would develop some new meds with no se

How did your paranoia start

Yeah unfortunately, I think the meds are the same wherever you are in the world. I think in Europe they place more emphasis on community outreach and talk therapy. Which works for some people, not for others.

What is your diagnosis? (if you don’t mind me asking)

Don’t know about progressive. It’s more difficult to get appointments and the waiting lists can be huge but I am grateful for the nhs don’t have to pay to be seen and the meds cost me around 9 for two months supply

Well that’s a pretty good deal. Is England really into talk-therapy?

I’m on a 6-9 month waiting list cos the regular councillors won’t take me. As they don’t specialise in therapies for those of us with severe illnesses. I’m sure in other areas waiting lists might be better. We get assigned to mental health teams in our bourough.

Awww I see. So you have meds until then?

Mental healthcare is kind of at a crisis here in America. I’m sort of lucky because I have veteran’s insurance.
