what’s your ideal vacation? where do you go? what do you do?
im not sure about mine, i don’t know what i want for a vacation. well i have ideas but they’re not really healthy. something healthy i like to do though is hike so maybe somewhere i could hike and eat delicious food.
I’m not sure what perfect would even look like, but the closest I ever came was the Hawaii trip I proposed to my girlfriend, now fiancée. We went zip lining, helicopter adventure, ate some fabulous seafood, swam in the ocean, and left with a new tattoo.
It was a happy time, happy memories.
For me it would be a trip to Greece, to see the old architecture of Athens and Sparta. The birthplace of democracy, modern physics, modern medicine… it’s always captured my imagination. I would also love to see the North Shore, we’re Epictetus taught
@Ooorgle that sounds like an awesome time, and you’ll have the tattoo to never forget it
@Cragger yeah greece is really interesting, i also wonder about going to rome. sounds like you’ve put some thought into it.
I would like to go to England, Scotland and France only because that is my mixed heritage. Just to see all the historical sites, but I could never afford it.
But really I don’t have much of a desire to go on vacation, I am happy living here doing what I do. Vacationing and holidaying always seemed like more trouble than it was worth for me. Planning, packing, saving $$$, long car/train/plane rides, etc…I’ve been on vacations before, and I did have fun, but it didn’t build a desire in me to vacation all the time.
@Lifer Yeah, Rome would be good to see as well. I’ve wanted to see Greece since I was a teenager,. My teacher, Mr Barraclough captured my imagination teaching us about Greece.
I’ve never been outside of Canada, but my sister might be interested in going to Greece as well. We’ll see
I’d love to go to Japan. Not sure where exactly within Japan. But Hubby & I both love Japanese culture, food, and the language. Japan is beautiful in many ways.
I’d like to get back into learning Japanese. It was fun.
My honeymoon was pretty amazing! We went slightly out of state to a tourist town and spent a week in a resort, it was amazing we went all around town and did lots of things!
I have to agree that it is beautiful… I wouldn’t know what to do or where to go
something relaxing with nice views, possibly an outside hut tub, woodland walks, rivers, short walks, with a nice village nearby preferably on the coast.
If i could dream, i would travel around france maybe.
Cabin in the mountains. Lots of nature walks.
i can not afford a holiday.
i do eat well though and pay my bills so im content and appreciative.
i have been on holidays in the past.
realistically i can afford to visit my boyfriends mother who lives 4 hours drive away.
i can afford to visit my father who is ten hours drive away if my boyfriend drives and if my dad pays petrol.
a part of me would love to just travel the world.
experience different cultures, colours, tastes, nature, environment, people, experiences and best would be if it were first class with my own hut and bed but i cant even afford economy flight right now.
i would travel around the world first class with private hut and bed and vegan food everywhere i stay and on plane.
i would stay at magnificent hotels and meet great people and make new friends.
i would but beautiful things and be delighted and excited.
I just went to Busch Gardens, Williamsburg, Virginia, USA. It was not very good. It was mostly thrill rides and little shops. It was not what I expected.
Next we went nearby to Jamestown, Virginia, which is were the first US colony was started in 1603. It had a very nice museum and several outside things to do.
Finding a nice vacation is not easy, and the cost must be considered.
We used to go to Ocean City, Maryland every year. I love the beach, jumping in the waves and stuff.
I’d like…to go to work and hold the job!
If I could go anywhere and money was no object, there’s a few places I’d like to go. The first one is probably Scotland because it seems like a beautiful place and I like their accent. Possibly I have been watching too much Outlander. The second is Paris. I’ve always wanted to go there since I was a kid. And the last might be New Zealand. Basically all the places I want to go to are romanticized versions of stuff I’ve seen on tv?
I am happy here at home. Perth itself is a tourist destiny. So glad I found a niche I can stay. So many places I haven’t been yet. Coffeshops, shoppingcentres and beaches. I can’t afford a car and do everything by public transport, but most of all I enjoy doing nothing. We got a beautiful trekking trail where I could stay overnight camping.
I went to Paris, New York and a war zone in my dreams the last tonight. I’m disappointed I didn’t get to explore Paris as much as I like.
My ideal vacation is Greenland. I hear it’s really beautiful.
