What's your Latuda dosage?

I want to reduce dosage. I used to take 120mg but I had bad akathisia and couldn’t sleep. Now I take 80mg. I am thinking of reducing to 60mg.

I take two Latuda pills. One is 37mg the other is 74mg.
So I guess my dosage is 111mg?

Weird we don’t have those doses in NA.
Only 40,60,80,120,160 mg:

I take 60. I really need 80 but it gave me dystonia. I also take seroquel

I take 40 but I also take 160 mg of Geodon a day.

I was on 80 but had to switch meds since I was having problems sleeping through the night. If I slept alright I felt pretty good during the day on 80. Definitely kept the positive symptoms away. I’d take it at night though since it would give me pretty bad akathasia.

120mg gave me serious akathisia. 80mg gives me occasional akathisia preventing me from sleeping but it goes away after 1-2h. I can live with it.

Do you take it in the morning or night?

No at night because it gives me more akathisia during the day and nausea. I feel less the akathisia and nausea at night. If I don’t eat or eat little with it I vomit.

Yeah that’s what I did too…Good luck getting your pdoc to lower the dose, but in my experience they are twice as likely to agree to let you try a different med than lowering the dose of the one you’re on, unless you’ve been stable for a while. The place I’ve been going to since I got schiz 10 years ago is a residnet clinic though. So I see someone new every year, which sucks, but I don’t have many options with medicaid.

I will ask my pdoc about switching to Risperdal. I think its safer than lowering dosage and most ppl here are taking 80+mg Latuda. I don’t want to risk my life. I read that Risperdal is better for negative symptoms because it increases NMDA receptors function.

37 Mg of Latuda Daily

Nothing else? You’re only taking 37mg and no other antipsychotic?

I was on 111mg of Latuda for 18 months.

The akathisia was so bad that I had to come off

Was a shame as it was a kinder drug for side effects even though it wasn’t completely effective
