I started a unidegree and was doing well, but had to stop for unforseen events. I loved it. I was working in a factory for years and was content. I had to break up work for unforeseen events as well, that was 2012. Should i work back in the factory parttime 10 hours a week or study parttime. My studies would finish when i am 60 years old. Or do both, first paid job for a couple of years and add the studies than or vice versa. Any ideas ?
Paid job. I’ve been to university. I can always study whatever interests me myself in my spare time.
A job would probably be better. Not sure university would be worth it.
If you’re not living hand to mouth, do whatever you enjoy. Otherwise, find a tradeoff between money and fun.
University! I don’t know what I would do with all the money from a job? Sure, traveling would be fun but eventually I would get tired of it.
Knowledge is what appeals me.
A lot of things I do not ask. These 2 are 1 of them. Where do I get my bread? And where do I rest my feet? But for now, we’re far from that. Lessons learned at hand. I’ll take a skill I do not know. And I’ll be happy to understand. Thank you for your time.
Study would be a good place to start. It would get you used to doing more before you find something like a job
Thank you for the ideas, I will study. The goal would be a bachelor’s in food and nutrition. I got an income being on a disability pension and it’s very unlikely to ever come off it. I could study myself self tutoring but having a proper solid education with the credit is challenging but worth it. Working in the factory would pay me a car and the odd vacation. I choose the student life. Public transport and pizzaleftovers .
I’d study with the aim of getting a well paid job or if you need the money immediately I’d go for the job.
Its about doing something meaningful to fill my time
I’d do paid job, but my circumstances are different
@Dunno will being a student affect your disability pension? They might view you as no longer disabled and stop payments if you resume your education. I get wanting to finish school though. I loved it too. Sz cancelled my plans.
A paid job coz I want da monai, where is the money.
Well you know a paid job pays you, studying typically doesn’t pay you.
All i wish for is being accepted as a nondisabled. Being on unemployment benefits instead of a disability pension increases my chances to land a job big time.
I think work is harder than school for most folks.
Ideally, I would get my AS-T or BA in math and then work, but that’s just my opinion. For some, college isn’t worth it anymore.
Por que no los dos? Can you do a part time studies and part time work? That’s what I did. It was reaaaally hard to sustain with my mental health problems though so I wouldn’t unless you’re very stable. I would keep that in mind if you consider this option.
If not I say paid job, school will always be there for you to return to.
Paid job for sure. Sadly, a lot of people go to college and don’t even get a job in the field they studied for anyways. Might as well skip the nonsense
I think I once saw a study that said only 46 percent of people who graduate form college actually work in the field they studied for. I personally think it’s worthwhile if you check the field you want isn’t oversaturated.
Paid job. Learn on the job.
